About me
Hi, my name is Angie.
I have been a registered midwife and pregnancy massage practitioner for ten years, and a lactation consultant (IBCLC) for five years. In my first week of being a registered midwife, I knew I needed to work with women on their terms, with a holistic healthcare approach. This is why I trained in massage therapy and started a small business ‘Bliss Pregnancy Massage’.
Over this past decade I have enjoyed a diverse midwifery career, working across the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth, and postnatal care. I have midwifed in a mainstream tertiary unit, regional and rural hospital units, and very remote Australian communities. I’ve had the privilege of exploring our beautiful country and I’ve been opened to various realities. The hardships, values, culture, and needs of one community can be very different to the next community. Zooming in, our individual needs and circumstances vary from person to person.
Bringing a child into the world is an absolutely unique moment in your life. As a community, we have a responsibility to support and nurture you every step of the way.
I strongly believe that all women and families deserve access to exceptional maternity care. This means safe (physically, mentally, emotionally) and professional care which supports your (well-informed) choices.
My Midwifery and IBCLC practice is based on current evidence, is in alignment with your needs, and has a multi-disciplinary collaborative approach.
I wish the very best for you, and if you would like to learn more about me, please get in touch.
